Air Niugini Fokker's
PNG flag carrier Air Niugini is to add seven former KLM Fokker 70 aircraft to its fleet, building on one existing former KLM Fokker 70 that it took in October 2014. Air Niugini said the type would offer increased capacity and range, compared with its 10 Bombardier Q400 turboprops, enabling it to serve regional routes that its existing F100 and Boeing fleets are "too large to operate into."

Trukai Fun Run
Sir John Dawanincura, president of the PNG Olympic committee, said, that there are plans in place for the Fun Run to be far more inclusive than it is at the moment, saying also that 'with the right support and commitment from all stakeholders, our athletes can only get better'.
Major events on the PNG Olympics calendar for the next few years, will include, the Mini Pacific Games, Olympics, and commonwealth games, with the Trukai Fun Run, still the major fundraiser, as they look to send more of Papua New Guinea's best, to these events.

Cybercrime Law
Cybercrime offenders in PNG will be prosecuted under a new law, PNG's Information Technology and Communication Minister Jimmy Miringtoro says. The Government has allocated K3.2 million for the development of the standalone cybercrime legislation, its capacity building and an awareness programme.

PNG has been given the green light to host the FIFA under 20 Women's World Cup. The approval was recently given by FIFA. A total of 16 countries from around the world will be coming to the country to compete.

No Confidence Motion Imminent
PNG's opposition MPs claim they have the numbers to oust the Prime Minister Peter O'Neill in a vote on a motion of no-confidence this Parliament session. Opposition Leader, Don Polye, says Mr O'Neill has continued to violate laws, processes and procedures and has discarded the usual checks and balances that should be respected in a democracy.

Fight Against Cancer Campaign
Hospital Poroman Foundation's Fight Against Cancer Campaign has been officially launched in Port Moresby. Japanese Invests in Infrastructure
The Japanese Government has signed a grant contract with the Wapenamanda District in Enga to reconstruct the Tale Bridge in Tsak local level government. The investment is an important link for the people of Tsak (SAHK) local level government in Wapenamanda. It is predicted that this new infrastructure will improve transportation services in the district and benefit an estimated 30,000 locals.

Family Support Centre PMGH
Australia has provided a mini-bus to the Family Support Centre (FSC) at the Port Moresby General Hospital to support its outreach to survivors of family and sexual violence. The mini-bus was provided by the Australian Government's Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development program. Sewage Treatment
a joint venture has been formed between Dai Nippon Construction (DNC) and Hitachi for sewage water treatment infrastructure facilities in Port Moresby. The total value of the order is approximately 13.3 billion yen. This project will be undertaken through an Official Development Assistance (ODA) loan from the Japanese government, according to Hitachi.

Methanol Production
Japanese company Sojitz has signed an agreement with NPCP, a state-owned oil company in PNG, to establish a methanol manufacturing business. Both the companies signed a shareholder's agreement, and aim to reach a final investment decision by 2017. The joint-venture will develop the business, utilising the natural gas available in the country.
